Brewmaster Sarah Schilling told Fox 5 Atlanta in a statement that Anheuser-Busch’s Cartersville, Georgia, plant halted beer production to instead can water:
“Throughout the year, we periodically pause beer production at our Cartersville, Georgia brewery to produce emergency canned drinking water so we are ready to help out communities across the country in times of crisis.
Putting our production and logistics strengths to work by providing safe, clean drinking water is the best way we can help in these situations.”
In January, Anheuser-Busch sent 50,000 cans of drinking water to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and surrounding communities devastated by a tornado.
What do you think?
I think it’s terrific that Anheuser-Busch prepares to help when others need help. What a class act!
