Do you feel you need a bit of change in your room’s decoration and don’t know from where to start? Well, you should definitely start with smaller things, but things that can have a great impact. Repainting your room may require some time and can be a longer process, but how about giving a makeover to your windows? It may seem odd at first, as usually people don’t tend to change things at their windows, but this next tutorial will prove you wrong. You can apply lace to your window and get a very romantic looking room.
This tutorial is designed for rectangle shaped windows, but you can also adapt it to other kinds of windows too. To make these lace windows you will need:
• some lace fabric (1-2 meters);
• a rotary cutter;
• a cardboard;
For the cornstarch:
• 2 tablespoons of corn flour;
• 2 tablespoons of cold water;
• 1 and 1/2 cup of boiling water;
• 1 large brush;
Start by mixing the cornstarch. Take a plastic bowl and put the corn flour and the cold water inside. Mix well, then add the boiling water too and stir. Take the large brush, dip it in the mixture and paint a layer on your window. Take the cardboard and make a rectangle shape out of it, then place this on your lace fabric and cut around it using a rotary cutter. Place the lace fabric on your window and add a layer of the cornstarch on top of it. You can add an extra coat of cornstarch to be sure and let the whole thing dry. When the fabric has dried, you will be able to enjoy your new window and watch the sunlight create beautiful patterns on your room’s walls. Beautiful, isn’t it?
