Vegan Leather Made From Pineapples is Cruelty-Free and Biodegradable


Being fashionable entails conforming to some certain trends and styles. An important part of fashion is undeniably leather. But what happens when you’re against animal cruelty or don’t want to wear plastics on your body? We present you the impressive vegan leather made from pineapples! Besides the crucial part no animals were harmed in the process of making it, this leather is biodegradable, thus having a minimal impact on the environment. Spanish designer Carmen Hijosa founded the Piñatex Company after a visit to the Philippines, where he drew inspiration for this creative faux-leather which can be applied to a bunch of products. The secret lies in the way the pineapple leaves are processed. The resulting fibers can be transformed into different textiles that mimic perfectly the fashionable leather.
